Although Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara', known as al-Julani, announced a ceasefire in As-Suwayda in the south of the country this morning (Saturday), it appears that the area continues to burn.

According to a report on Channel 12, the documents coming from the Druze city indicate that in reality the situation is far from calm - and that the fighting between the Sunni Bedouin tribes and the Druze continues.

During the recent fighting in Sweida, some 700 people were killed and murdered, many of them from the Druze community. Grisly videos released from Syria document atrocities committed by Islamic militias, including ISIS operatives: beheadings, executions, torture, and taking women as slaves.

In a difficult-to-watch video, a Druze man is seen sitting in handcuffs, with a gun held to his head, and is forced under threat to bark and praise al-Julani. In another video, Bedouins are seen vandalizing pictures of Druze sheikhs and their symbols in the al-Suwayda area.

Along with this, it should be noted that there is a heavy fog surrounding what is happening on Druze Mountain, with each side promoting the narrative that suits it.

The documents that are being published on social media in Syria at this time also require careful consideration. It is unclear where they come from, when they were made, and to what extent they all reflect the current reality in As-Suwayda.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Ministry of Health is preparing to transfer medical equipment and medicines to the hospital in As-Sweida, in response to reports of damage to the hospital, and also to provide assistance to the injured on the spot.

Suhail, a Druze from Suwayda, said in a conversation with News 12: "There is a war on the street with the Bedouins, we are all on alert. This is happening contrary to what the government is trying to show, we are not in the state of calm that we hoped for. It seems that the remnants of the al-Julani gangs continue to arrive. If we do not speak openly about the essential danger posed by the policies of Turkey and Qatar, the policies of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafi jihad - we will not achieve peace and calm in this region.".

The Syrian president said this morning in a speech that attempted to summarize the event and convey a return to normalcy. He attacked Israel and claimed: "The Israeli intervention escalated the tensions and led the country to a dangerous stage that threatens its stability, as a result of the blatant attacks in the south and on government institutions in Damascus. Following these events, American and Arab mediators intervened in an attempt to calm the situation under these complex conditions. Despite our repeated warnings that the absence of the Syrian state's presence in these areas would lead to general anarchy and the renewal of conflicts on a larger scale.".

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar attacked the Syrian president. In a statement he published on the X network, Sa'ar noted that al-Shara' expressed support for attacks by jihadist organizations, saying that "the Bedouin tribes are a symbol of noble values and principles" - and in the same breath blamed the victims, namely the Druze, for the deterioration of the security situation.

Sa'ar added that the Syrian president's speech was accompanied by conspiracy theories and false accusations against Israel, and noted that the new regime in Syria has become a dangerous country for minorities - including the Kurds, Druze, Alawites and Christians - a phenomenon that has become increasingly severe in the past six months.

The Foreign Minister also called on the international community to condition any renewed recognition of Syria as part of the "family of nations" on a commitment to protecting the rights of the country's religious and ethnic minorities.
