According to a report by the American news network CBS published tonight (Friday), Iranian President Massoud Pazakhian was injured in one of the Israeli attacks on Iran last month as part of Operation 'Am Kolavi'.

Two American intelligence sources confirmed that reports in Iranian state media are accurate, according to which Pazhakian was injured while participating in a meeting of the Supreme National Security Council when the Israeli attack occurred.

Iranian media reports indicated that he suffered leg injuries while escaping through an emergency shaft. According to a CBS report, it is unclear whether Pazhakian was a deliberate target for assassination.

Earlier this month, in an interview with Tucker Carlson, Pazhakian claimed that Israel had attempted to assassinate him by bombing an area where he was attending a meeting. When asked if he believed Israel had attempted to kill him, Pazhakian replied: "They tried, yes. And they acted accordingly, but they failed.".

He added: "It was not the United States that was behind the attempt to assassinate me. It was Israel. I was at the meeting. We discussed ways to move forward. But thanks to the intelligence from the spies they had, they tried to bomb the area where we held the meeting.".

Pazhakian did not specify the exact date of the attack.
