Maggie Tabibi, anchor of Channel 14's main newscast, concluded the 17th of Tammuz fast live this evening (Sunday).
At the end of the edition, after an explanation of the significance of the day - which symbolizes the beginning of the period "among the Egyptians" and the beginning of mourning for the destruction of the Temple - Tabibi addressed the viewers: "With the end of the fast, and just before we drink and say the blessing, we naturally hope for the speedy return of all our abductees to the bosom of their families, and for the success of the Israel Defense Forces.".
She then blessed a glass of water, "May all things be done by His word," drank it, and thus broke the fast in front of the spectators.
In the studio, the panelists' voices were heard saying "Amen.".
Tabibi later shared her feelings: "As then, so today, the people of Israel are once again living in a fracture that demands repair – a demand to rebuild the wall, with faith, responsibility, and shared prayer. Perhaps this is the time to take down the walls – today, more than ever.".
