Captivity survivor Idan Alexander and his family were guests in the Oval Office of the White House this evening (Thursday) and spoke with US President Donald Trump, his wife and his team.
Alexander said that once the kidnappers realized that Trump had been elected, things changed for the better for the kidnappers. "When he was elected, they moved us to a better place.".
The US envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, told Trump: "You were elected and Hamas was afraid of you.".
Trump responded: "They were not afraid of Biden. We are proud that we helped you and brought you home, it was very important to the first lady and all of us and we are glad that you live here with us.".

Alexander said after the meeting: "I came to thank the person who signed the measure that saved my life, and I was very excited to be in the White House, where my parents were more than once during the struggle for my release, and this time with them. I told the most powerful man in the world what I had been through, what my friends there were going through, and I asked him to continue to do everything he could. I shared with the president my concern that continuing the fighting was dangerous for the hostages, and that I hoped he would succeed in bringing about another historic achievement - a comprehensive agreement to release everyone, all 50 hostages. I told him that I was sure he was the person who could do this. I am very excited that I was able to celebrate my independence in this way on the eve of American Independence Day.".
The White House issued a statement: "Idan Alexander suffered hell - held hostage by Hamas for 584 days. President Trump promised to bring him home - and kept his promise. Today, President Trump welcomed him to the Oval Office.
""We will not stop until every abductee is reunited with his family.".
