Former MK Avraham Borg stated on media personality Shai Golden's podcast that if he had encountered Itamar Ben-Gvir and Ayman Odeh drowning in a river, he would have chosen to save Odeh alone.

""I'm walking down the river and two are drowning, and I can only save one. Itamar Ben Gvir and Ayman Odeh are drowning. Who am I saving? I'm saving Odeh," Borg said on the AII-in podcast.

When Shai Golden asked about the reason for the choice, Borg replied: "Because he is a human being, we have a shared humane value system. We even have a shared cultural system. We have political disagreements, we have political agreements, but in the humanistic basis of man to man - we are in the same place.".

On the other hand, he stated: "I have nothing in common, nothing, with Itamar Ben Gvir.".

Golden commented: "But Ayman Odeh also thinks you are occupying his house.".

Borg replied: "We really did conquer their land. But the question is not whether I constantly live in the past and feel guilty or arrogant and he feels like a constant victim. But let's stop this, it happened, there is almost no nation in the world that does not have injustice at its core.".

""Things have happened throughout history, does that mean I have to constantly live in this past? It happened, I know how to build an apology or national reconciliation that continues from here on out.".
