A commotion at the bakery: On Sunday morning, the eve of the seventh holiday of Passover, shoppers at the Machsanei Shuk branch in Safed were shocked to discover activity in the bakery complex. Customers discovered one of the workers from the Plisbury Bakery, which holds the franchise to operate a bakery at the branch, preparing the bakery for the holiday weekend.

The shoppers quickly reported the matter to the branch manager, who forwarded the matter to the chain's management. Police were called to the scene by the market warehouse management, who claimed that the employee was trespassing and entering an area where he was not allowed to be at the time. It should be emphasized that no sale of chametz took place during the holiday.

The police detained the employee for questioning.

Rabbi Mordechai Bistritzky, who is responsible for kashrut in the Safed Rabbinate, decided to remove kashrut from the bakery, until the matter is clarified, and tomorrow the managers of the market warehouses and the Plissberry Bakery were invited to a discussion.

The CEO of the Market Warehouses chain, Shalom Naaman, tells Haredim10: "The mafia is not connected to the Market Warehouses. I myself called the police and demanded that this employee be arrested. I don't know what his motives were, but he will not return to work in the Market Warehouses complex. I spoke with Rabbi Bistritzky, and I also believe that the mafia will not operate until the entire issue is thoroughly investigated.".

Rabbi Mordechai Bistritzky told Haredim10: "We received a report of activity in the bakery complex during Passover, and in order to clarify the matter, I ordered the removal of the kashrut from the place. Tomorrow there will be a meeting with the managers of the place, and the matter will be examined.".
