
Baruch Dayan, the truth teller: Rabbi Moshe Berger, one of the most prominent and respected spiritual figures in the city, passed away suddenly this evening (Wednesday) in Kiryat Ata.
Rabbi Berger collapsed in his home. Rescue forces called to the scene began prolonged resuscitation attempts, but sadly they had no choice but to declare him dead.
The deceased, zt"l, is the son-in-law of the late Rabbi Yaakov Mendelsohn, zt"l, Sh"b of Kfar Ata.
He was a beloved and central figure in the local Haredi community, and earned the love and respect of all synagogue devotees and his many acquaintances.
For years, he served as a prayer leader on the High Holidays at the 'Hanikhei HaYeshiva' synagogue, and was known for his moving voice and the deep intention he instilled in his prayers.
Throughout the year, he prayed regularly at the Makawa Synagogue, where he raised his hands in a priestly blessing every morning.
His funeral procession will leave tomorrow (Thursday) at 11:00 AM from his home at 7 Nordau Street towards the new 'Eretz HaChaim' cemetery.
