Since the beginning of Operation 'Am Kalavi', Air Force fighter jets have been operating in Iranian skies and attacking military targets of the Iranian regime.
The Air Force's refueling planes support the fighter jets and have so far taken off on dozens of flights, performing more than 600 refuelings of fighter jets in the skies of the Middle East.
During the war, unique and groundbreaking operating methods were developed that allowed for a high refueling rate, which increased the rate of firepower of the Iranian Air Force.
The IDF notes: "The refueling planes have the ability to fly long distances, perform precise refueling in a large number of scenarios and in complex coordination with the attack squadrons. Each plane contains dozens of tons of fuel and is refueled while flying in dangerous areas, enabling continuous attacks and reaching long distances.".
The army also emphasizes: "The refueling planes are over 50 years old, and the squadron's activity was made possible thanks to a high-quality technical system that has been operating day and night since the beginning of the war.".
The Air Force will soon receive new-generation aerial refueling aircraft - KC46 aircraft that will double the IDF's long-range capabilities.
