The Pashkoryov family from Odessa are the Ukrainian citizens who were murdered in the missile barrage on Bat Yam on Saturday night.
The family, who are not Jewish, immigrated to Israel in December 2022 to allow 7-year-old Nastia to receive medical treatment in Israel following her diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Nastya was murdered along with her mother Maria Peshkurova, 30, her grandmother Lena Peshkurova, 60, and her two maternal nephews - Konstantin Tutevich, 9, a third-grade student, and Ilya Peshkurov, 13, a seventh-grade student. Both children attended school in the city of Bat Yam.
At this point, the bodies of all family members were located, except for the body of the mother, Maria.
Nastya's father, Artem Borik, serves in a Saar brigade in the Ukrainian army and is on the front line against Russia. Grandma Lena's husband was also unable to come to Israel for similar reasons.
A recent bone marrow transplant for Nastya failed to stop the spread of the disease. Mother Maria wrote at the time: "We are standing on the brink of an abyss again. Yes. The transplant did not help.".
But according to Maria, doctors recently offered a new treatment method that gave Nastya hope. In her online posts, Maria's mother wrote that she was clinging to this hope.
According to reports in Ukraine, the grandmother and nephews helped raise funds for Nastya's continued care during their stay in Israel.
The missile strike also killed Michael (Miki) Nahum (61), Meir (Miro) Vaknin (53), Bella Ashkenazi (90) and Efrat Saranga (44).
