During the night (Monday), eight unmanned aerial vehicles from Iran were intercepted by the Navy's missile ships.
According to an IDF spokesman, for the first time, an interception was carried out using the Barak Magen air defense system and the LRAD long-range interceptor.
The interceptor, which is installed on the Saar 6 missile ships, is capable of dealing with a wide range of threats, including unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, steep-track threats, coastal missiles, and more.
""During the night, the Navy's missile ship flotilla intercepted eight unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran, and since the beginning of the operation, it has intercepted approximately 25 unmanned aerial vehicles that posed a threat to the citizens of the State of Israel," the IDF said.
""The missile ships of Shayetet 3, in cooperation with the Air Force, continue to be deployed in all arenas and constitute a force multiplier in the mission of defending the country's skies.".
