The late Rabbi Benjamin Klein - whose tenth Yahrzeit is today - told of a dramatic event that occurred in 1990.
For many years, Rabbi Klein, on the Rebbe's behalf, met with senior figures from the Shin Bet and the Israeli Mossad - and was the Rebbe's liaison to the security community in Israel.
He was rarely even sent for short stays in Israel. Most of his activities in this area remained unknown due to his sensitive nature.
In his testimony, Rabbi Klein tells of a defining moment in which the Rebbe was informed of confidential information about the intentions of PLO terrorists to carry out an attack against Jews.
In a public talk he gave, the Rebbe declared that "Israel has no strength except in its mouth," and detailed three spiritual steps: increasing Torah study, increasing charity as a redemption for fasting, and reciting three psalms of choice - including chapter 55 of Psalms.
