Education Minister Yoav Kish participated today (Monday) in the Subcommittee on Jewish Thought in the Education System, headed by MK Galit Distel Atbarian, in which he presented the 'Roots' program - the national program for Jewish and Zionist identity in the education system.

On Thursday, we salute national-civilian service personnel from Haredi society: Want to participate?

During the discussion, the minister revealed that for the first time, a 'Director General's Circular' specifically addressing the issue of putting on tefillin in schools will be formulated.

Under the direction of the minister, the ministry's professional teams recently began formulating a circular from the Director General that will establish clear procedures - so that any student who wishes to put on tefillin within the school framework will be able to do so.

Education Minister Yoav Kish: "Any student in the State of Israel who wishes to wear tefillin will be able to do so. This is a basic right and a fundamental value in a Jewish state. The education system under my leadership is returning Jewish and Zionist identity to the center, and wearing tefillin is an inseparable part of this. We will regulate the issue clearly and concisely through a dedicated Director General's circular.".
