Rescue unit volunteers recently operated in the Meron Stream, following a report of a 22-year-old hiker who needed help deep in the area.
The traveler suffered from classic symptoms of heat stroke: severe weakness, nausea, dizziness, and headaches, and dehydration and heat exhaustion were strongly suspected.
All rescue teams joined the hiker in the stream bed. Paramedics and unit medics provided her with initial medical treatment, which included administering fluids and cooling. Thanks to the rapid and professional treatment on the ground, there was a significant and encouraging improvement in her condition.
The rescuers accompanied the young woman on a gentle walk out of the stream, where she was transferred for further examination and treatment in an MDA ambulance that was waiting at the scene.
