
Qatar began training Syrian security forces to ensure that Ahmed al-Shara's regime does not fall as a result of a civil war in Syria.

The training takes place on Qatari soil.
This comes after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned yesterday that the Syrian regime could fall "within weeks.".
According to a report this morning (Wednesday) by Roy Kays on the B network, Syrian sources close to Qatar and familiar with the matter said that Qatar recently began training small groups of operatives in the new regime's security apparatus, so that they can serve as police forces to enforce law and order in Syria.
Another step Qatar has taken to strengthen the new regime is to pay a grant worth almost $30 each month for public sector officials in Syria.
Qatar's move is intended to strengthen the rule of Ahmed al-Sharaa, and is further evidence of Qatar's increasing involvement in Syria, alongside Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
The Qataris also closed, together with the Saudis, a $15 million debt that Syria had to pay to the World Bank.
The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim, was the first Arab and foreign leader to visit Syria after the fall of the Assad regime.
