In a post he posted on his X account, he wrote: "Cancer touches us all. Like many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in our broken places. Thank you so much for lifting us up with love and support.".
The former president's spokesman announced the difficult diagnosis yesterday, writing that Biden has metastases in his bones.
In his statement, he wrote that although the cancer appears to be a violent type, it appears to be sensitive to hormones and therefore can be dealt with effectively.
The statement said that the president and his family are exploring cancer treatment options with doctors.
Biden, 82, ended his term as president on January 20, 2025.
