Alarms were activated tonight (Sunday) throughout the center - including in Tel Aviv, the Shephelah and Sharon, following the firing of a ballistic missile by the Houthis from Yemen.

An IDF spokesman reported that one missile was intercepted.

Residents in the center reported hearing several explosions.

The Houthis then launched another missile that fell on the way. No alerts were triggered.

Due to the alarms, landings and takeoffs at Ben Gurion Airport were briefly halted - and some flights were forced to delay their landing in Israel. Except for the case in which a young man was injured on the way to the protected area in Bat Yam, no injuries were reported.

The Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Sarie, says that they carried out a "quality operation" last night targeting Ben-Gurion Airport in the Jaffa area. According to him, they launched two ballistic missiles. He also said that yesterday morning they launched a Jaffa-type drone towards Ben-Gurion Airport.

Tonight's launch into Israel is the first this week from Yemen, after at least seven launches last week, including three that caused alarms to be activated in large areas of Israel.

The missile fire came about a day and a half after the IDF attacked two major ports in the country, in response to the ongoing fire from Yemen.

The operation involved 15 aircraft that dropped more than 35 munitions, after flying approximately 2,000 kilometers to Yemen. According to a report in the Saudi Al-Hadath, more than 10 attacks were carried out on the two ports.
