Egg shortage: Consumers seeking to purchase eggs for the seventh day of Passover encountered a shortageMarketing chains.

In some branches of the retail chains, it has been impossible to obtain fresh eggs since Sunday - and as of this morning (Tuesday), there is still a shortage. This is reported by the website Globes.

Retailers say that egg marketing companies have had difficulty keeping up with orders. For example, a branch manager at the Rami Levy Marketing chain in Shekma told Globes that he ordered 13 carts of eggs from Tanova and Barutyim, but they only provided him with 8 carts, and the store ran out of stock as early as Tuesday morning.

This morning there was still a shortage of eggs at the branch.

Metanova told Globes that this is an unusual lack of holiday attendance, due to high demand.

Shmuel Lesser, owner of M. Lesser, which markets eggs to the Osher Ad, Eynot Bitan, Tiv Taam, Shufersal and Mega chains, says: "There was a big pull during Passover and there is a vacuum of shortage. I estimate that we will make up for the shortage. Last night we already unloaded eggs at the warehouse. Right now there is no branch that we supply to, and there are no eggs at all. Within two days we will catch up on the shortage.".
