Many years ago, the Rebbe of Rozin purchased the right to light the fire in Meron from the rabbis of Safed for full money. Since then, the lighting has been in the Rozin household and was inherited by the Rebbe of Bayan. The Rebbe, who was still a young man in 1879, lit the fire.

Brim wrote about the photo: "The lighting ceremony that I photographed forty years ago of the Rebbe of Boyan, Shlita, in his youth, who was then the only one who lit a lamp in Meron on the memory of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, Z.A.

""Today, he continues the tradition with the central lighting that opens the Hilula celebrations, a sublime, moving and uplifting event for tens of thousands of people, joy that breaks boundaries, after which more rebbes join him who light torches throughout the day.".

""A photo I took forty years ago shows the Rebbe still young before his marriage.".

Later, Barim added: "Another photo I took of the Rebbe together for the HaBdalach with the legendary yeshiva supervisor, Rabbi Avraham Leib Klein zt"l, in a police vehicle taking them to the top of the mountain on the roof of Zion to light the torch":
