At the same time, the Israel Police is operating a helicopter, surveillance equipment, drones, ATVs, SUVs, and motorcycles throughout the area, to regulate crowds and vehicle traffic and for the sake of public safety.
Thousands of ushers from the Haredi community will be on duty in all areas of the Mount Zion and the festival. The police say: "The public must show responsibility, obey the ushers' instructions, and act in accordance with the instructions and changes in traffic arrangements for the event.".
The number of celebrants and worshippers was limited by means of Ministry of Transportation tickets purchased in advance. The ascent to Mount Meron will be made exclusively by public transportation and shuttles.
Changes in traffic arrangements:
In light of the changes in traffic arrangements, drivers are required to pay attention to the directional signs on the sides of the road, as well as listen to the media and use navigation applications.
The public is required to be considerate and show mutual responsibility and guarantee to the other celebrants, in order to allow all of Israel to come to the Meron site to pray and celebrate.
Care should be taken to minimize the time spent on site so that the entry of subsequent celebrants is not delayed.
The purpose of the police deployment is to assist the ushers as needed to ensure the celebration is held safely.
The police will provide vital information to the public on an ongoing basis through the 110 hotline - the national police information center, and through the media.
