Terror on the way to the funeral: Tova Richler, a 59-year-old Jewish woman, a resident of New York, who came especially from the United States to attend her father's funeral on the Mount of Olives, never imagined that the trip to the funeral would end the way it did.
On Friday, just hours before the Sabbath began, she drove to the cemetery on the Mount of Olives, where her father's funeral was about to begin. Her sister, brother-in-law, and young nephew were in the car with her at the time.
According to a report inIsrael Today, On the way, not far from the cemetery, near the Gethsemane Church, about 10 masked boys were waiting for them, who stormed the vehicle and pelted it with stones and blocks. As a result of the incident, Tova was in shock, the vehicle was stopped and its occupants were delayed for a long time, until the funeral organizers had no choice but to hold it without them, before the Sabbath began.
""I never dreamed that my father's funeral would look like this. I came especially from New York, thousands of miles away, to attend it. When the attack on us began, I was in complete shock. I heard screams, 'booms' and blows to the car. I sometimes heard about people being attacked with stones on the way to the Mount of Olives, but I never thought that something like this would happen to me," Richler told Israel Hayom.
