Dan Illoz, a MK from the Likud backbenches, today (Monday) sharply criticized the Haredi factions, following their decision to boycott coalition votes - in protest of the delay in enacting the conscription law.

According to him, if the Haredi factions do indeed choose such a step, the Likud must reconsider its commitment to voting on laws concerning the Haredi sector.

Illoz, whose chances of being re-elected to the Likud are slim, wrote on his Twitter account: "The best of our sons are now going up for another round of fighting. They are leaving behind their entire lives and risking their lives for the sake of the return of the kidnapped and the overthrow of Hamas. At a time like this, it is important to say clearly: If the haredi factions boycott the government's votes and harm the ability to maintain a normal daily routine, the Likud should also be freed from automatically voting for their legislation.".

He said, "Likud is not a floor rag, but a magnificent national movement - the largest in the coalition and in the Knesset" - and threatened: "I will not let us be humiliated.".

Illoz made it clear that he is in favor of partnership with the Haredi parties, but opposes conduct that is intended, he said, to force complete surrender: "We are in favor of partnership. But those who are looking for devotion will be disappointed.".

He added and noted that, in light of the reserve recruitment orders, this is particularly outrageous behavior: "At a time when tens of thousands of reservists are receiving orders - many of them Likudniks - this behavior is a spit in the face of the serving public.".

The MK called for immediate action within the faction: "I call for a conference of the Likud faction as soon as possible to determine a clear line against such a move.".

The MK's announcement drew reactions against him.

One of the surfers wrote: "Tell me, Dan, what would you say to us citizens of Israel if your going up on the barricades against the Haredim leads to elections, an end to the war, and a loss for Hamas?""

And then he wondered: "Please tell us what votes in favor of the Haredim were cast in the last year?""

Another surfer put him in his place: "Sit quietly and don't interfere, let the seniors solve the problem. We're tired of rebels like you.".

And one of the surfers was adamant: "You are welcome to call on Naftali Bennett's faction to convene. You are persona non grata in the Likud.".
