The fraud unit at the Jerusalem Police Department immediately began carrying out a variety of investigative activities, as part of which the investigators were able to locate the suspect in the fraud and he was arrested.

The investigation into the case revealed that the suspect - who was working on renovations at the elderly woman's home - created a false impression in her eyes as if he had discovered a gold mine under her house while carrying out the renovations there.

The investigation into the case revealed that the suspect convinced the victim that in order to keep the discovery of the gold under her house secret, she should transfer various sums of money to him. In the process, the suspect defrauded and deceived the elderly woman, pocketing large sums of money totaling approximately 2.5 million NIS - all under the pretext that he could help her keep the disclosure of the 'gold mine' secret.

With this callous and callous fraud, he made that elderly woman hand over her best money to him.

The suspect was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department detectives after he attempted to impersonate someone else, while not having a residence permit in Israel and driving a vehicle without a driver's license - and was transferred for investigation to the Jerusalem District Fraud Unit.

The suspect was brought before the court, which granted the request of the police representative and ordered his detention to be extended from time to time in order to continue the police investigation.

Today (Sunday), at the end of the investigation in the fraud department of the Jerusalem Police Department, the investigation was completed, establishing an evidentiary infrastructure against the suspect, and a prosecutor's statement was filed against him by the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office - and an indictment is expected against him in the coming days.
