Crime in Bnei Brak: At the beginning of the month of Nissan, the police hotline received several reports of a man who was undressing at the Itzkowitz Synagogue on Rabbi Schach Street in Bnei Brak - and even attempted to commit a serious act on a child.
Police officers who arrived at the scene arrested the suspect, a 31-year-old resident of Bnei Brak, and he was brought to the station for questioning for an indecent act in public and against a minor - at the end of which he was imprisoned and his detention was extended from time to time.
In an investigation conducted by the Bnei Brak police, investigators collected findings and evidence while collecting testimonies.
According to the investigation, the suspect arrived at the synagogue, entered one of the prayer rooms, took off his clothes, grabbed an 11-year-old boy, and tried to put him on the table while taking off his clothes. Bystanders who were there and noticed the act prevented the suspect from continuing his actions and at the same time called the police, who arrested the suspect in the act.
Upon completion of the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was filed on Sunday. The suspect's detention was extended until today (Tuesday) and the prosecutor's office intends to file an indictment against the suspect.
The court decided to prohibit the publication of the suspect's details or any identifying information.
