Hammer, lighter and a bottle of gasoline: The boss didn't pay - the employee took revenge and set his car on fire

An indictment has been filed against a northern resident who set fire to his former boss's car - due to a financial debt.

The arrest was made after about three weeks ago, at noon, a report was received of a vehicle burning in the community of Majdal Shams.

Upon receiving the report, the Northern District police quickly arrived at the scene, opened an investigation, and later that day were able to trace the suspect's escape route, locate him, and arrest him.

The investigation revealed that the defendant and the owner of the vehicle were acquainted, as the defendant worked for the victim. Following a dispute over the payment of a debt, the defendant arrived at his residence and set his vehicle on fire.

The investigation also revealed that the defendant had equipped himself with a flammable substance, a hammer, and a lighter, arrived at the parking lot, broke the car's windshield, threw a bottle of flammable substance into it - resulting in extensive damage to the vehicle - and fled the scene.

Upon completion of the investigation phase, an indictment was filed against Majdal Shams, 33, a resident of Nof HaGalil-Nazareth, in the District Court through the Northern District Attorney's Office, along with a request to detain him until the end of the proceedings.
