Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the northern Gaza Strip today (Tuesday), along with Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Southern Command Commander Major General Yaniv Asor, and the division and brigade commanders.

Netanyahu received a security review from commanders in the sector on the IDF's intense activity to free the hostages and defeat Hamas in Gaza.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense held a discussion with division commanders, brigade commanders, and battalion commanders, and with reserve and regular fighters, and emphasized the importance of continuing military pressure on Hamas.

The Prime Minister said at the end of the tour: "I am here with the Minister of Defense, with the IDF commanders and our regular fighters, and the wonderful reservists. They are doing a wonderful job here in the Gaza Strip. They are hitting the enemy - and Hamas will suffer more and more blows. We insist that he release our hostages and we insist on achieving all of our war goals, and we are doing this thanks to our heroic fighters who are doing a wonderful job.".

""I want to tell you what we are fighting for and why we are fighting: This is a post that the dictator of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, issued today, in which he explains why Israel must be destroyed. He is doing this during negotiations with the Americans. We are fighting for our existence. We are fighting for our future," he added.

The Defense Minister said: "This outpost we are on - it dominates Gaza, strikes at the heads of terrorists, damages terror infrastructures and at the same time protects Israeli communities - this is the way we do it and these are our lessons. We will never allow this kind of enemy to threaten our communities and our citizens, and therefore the operation that is currently taking place is pressuring Hamas to first release the hostages, and the more it persists in its refusal, the more we will intensify the blows it will suffer until it is defeated and all the hostages are returned.".
