Commentator Amit Segal addressed this morning (Tuesday), in an interview on Yinon Magal and Ben Caspit's program on 103FM radio, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to reverse his decision to appoint Eli Sharvit as head of the Shin Bet.
""We know that Netanyahu was not enthusiastic about the first four and now only two candidates remain. Some of the candidates used influence operations on Netanyahu, a sophisticated way to eliminate others," Segal said.
He also said that "Netanyahu has already made hundreds of appointments over the years and there were sometimes setbacks. The difference is that there, in the previous appointments, something emerged that you didn't know about, but here Netanyahu knew everything and reversed his decision. Netanyahu's supporters could not tolerate a person who was responsible for the Kaplan protests.".
According to him, "The whole argument says that the Shin Bet and the Attorney General's Office are in a kind of social network where everyone thinks the same thing.".
