He ran a strictly kosher supermarket and assisted Jewish visitors to the country.
Rabbi Kogan was active in Chabad missions in the Emirates even before his wedding, and later arrived on the mission with his wife - the niece of Rabbi Gabi and Rivki Holtzberg, Chabad missioners who were murdered in Mumbai, India, in 2008.
After he had been missing since Thursday, intelligence and security authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced on Sunday, the 23rd of Cheshvan, that they had located his body.
