Three F-35i 'Adir' aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin landed last Thursday at the Nevatim Air Force Base.
The three aircraft will join the ranks of the Air Force and the 'Lions of the South' Squadron (116).
The aircraft were emblazoned with the Air Force emblem.
Since the outbreak of the war, the 'Adir' formation has flown over 15,000 operational flight hours, and taken part in thousands of sorties in all theaters.
Thanks to the operational experience, versatility between the various missions and arenas that the aircraft allows, significant operational lessons were learned.
The Adir aircraft was originally built with the ability to carry weapons inside the aircraft's belly. During the war, the Flight Test Center (FTC) developed a new capability to carry external JDAM weapons on the aircraft's wings, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin and the F-35 program at the Pentagon.
The Israeli 'Adir' aircraft is the only aircraft in the world that has carried out operational strikes with an external armament configuration, which increased the attack capabilities.
Increasing the 'Adir' array constitutes a significant reinforcement of the Air Force's lethal capabilities.
