Desecration of God: A doll dressed in an ultra-Orthodox soldier's uniform was hung on a rope during the holiday of Purim, next to a Palestinian flag, in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem - and provoked angry reactions.
The Yasm police arrived at noon (Sunday) to take down the flag and the soldier's effigy, while residents gathered around, chanting: "Nazis," and singing "Eradicate the memory of Amalek.".

A doll of an ultra-Orthodox soldier was also hung in the extremist neighborhood of Beit Shemesh.
Avi Arntroy, a member of the Beit Shemesh city council from Degel Hatorah, commented on the disgrace on his Twitter account: "What a shame to start the day/week like this. We have differences of opinion, and the issue is complex – that's clear. But one thing should be even clearer: there is no place for such hatred. Hanging a soldier's effigy with the inscription 'We will die rather than be drafted' is crossing a red line.".
He added: "Disputes must be managed with respect, not with incitement and such despicable acts. This must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.".
These events join previous cases in which puppets or signs with messages against Haredi soldiers were displayed, as part of extremists' opposition to Haredi service in the IDF.
What a bummer to start the day/week like this.
We have differences of opinion, and the issue is complex – that's clear.
But one thing needs to be even clearer:
There is no place for such hatred.Hanging a soldier's effigy with the inscription "We will die rather than be drafted" is crossing a red line.
Disputes should be handled with respect, not through incitement and such vile acts.We must condemn this in every way… pic.twitter.com/vGflZvU9t8
