The top command of the Israel Police in the Dan region participated in a Purim celebration at the home of Bnei Brak Deputy Mayor and Degel chairman in the city, Menachem Shapira. Bnei Brak Police Station Commander Rotem Wasker also participated in a 'banquet' at Bnei Brak Deputy Mayor Shlomo Elharar of the Shas party.

The person who sees these parties as trifles is Yaakov Wider, a Likud member of the Bnei Brak City Council - who sharply attacked the personal ties between senior police officers and municipal officials.

In a scathing post he published on his Twitter account, Vider wrote: "The recurring photos of senior police officers celebrating at private parties and in personal meetings at businessmen's homes raise difficult questions!

""Do the police have different rules between the municipality of Bnei Brak and the rest of the municipalities in Israel - and why? Is Bnei Brak not part of the State of Israel?""

He wondered: "Why would residents or municipal employees who want to complain about municipal corruption trust that the police will investigate complaints against those who have become their personal friends in good faith?""
