Storm on social media: Saleh al-Jafrawi, a TV star from the Gaza Strip who supports Hamas, raised money to build a new children's hospital in Gaza, but it was reported in the Strip today (Thursday) that he pocketed the donations for his own personal pocket.

Saleh, who became famous during the 'Iron Swords' War, launched the fundraising campaign three days ago.

According to a report in Kan News, the campaign, which has so far raised about $9.8 million out of the stated goal of $10 million, was marketed as a humanitarian project designed to restore health services for children in Gaza.

The fundraising page featured the official symbol of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which seemingly gave legitimacy to the project.

Yesterday, the Gaza Health Ministry under the Palestinian Authority issued a statement stating that it is not responsible for fundraising campaigns on any media platform.

In addition, he implicitly warned when he said that there was an attempt to raise donations using the Gaza Health Ministry symbol without authorization.

According to a report by Nurit Yohanan in Kan News, following the announcement, many netizens began accusing al-Jafrawi of exploiting the humanitarian situation in Gaza for personal enrichment. These allegations quickly spread on social media, with many expressing frustration and anger at what they see as a cynical exploitation of the war.

Al-Jafrawi has not yet responded to the allegations against him, and the fundraising page is still active.

Al-Jafrawi is the owner of an Gaza-based TikTok account who uploaded a video on October 7th in which he celebrated Hamas' invasion of Israel. The Hamas-sponsored network star then shared a video of himself crying over the airstrikes on the Strip and the destruction in Gaza.

Al-Jafrawi was known for changing roles, sometimes being a fighter or a journalist, and even being resurrected after being recorded as "dead.".
