A heated confrontation broke out this evening (Wednesday) on the "Patriots" program hosted by Yinon Magal on Channel 14, during a discussion about the video that documented the singing of "We Do Not Believe in the Rule of the Infidels" by thousands of yeshiva students and kollel elders at the wedding of the son of the Gaon Rabbi Shalom Ber Sorotzkin, head of the "Ateret Shlomo" yeshiva institutions.
Panel member Itamar Fleishman harshly criticized the yeshiva students, saying: "The argument that Haredim are some kind of soft product is to remove responsibility from them. The fact that Gali Bahar Meara did or said something does not change the essence of the matter.".
He added and attacked the "ultra-Orthodox evasion": "We saw people here who do not shed blood for the State of Israel - which enables the world of Torah, and not this one either, but sing with their students.".
Magal interrupted his words repeatedly: "You don't understand the haredim, you think you can force them to join you, you're wrong. You don't understand the incident. I will defend them because you're joining the secularists, Gali and the High Court of Justice, you're only causing damage.".
The heated discussion deteriorated, and Magal interrupted the broadcast and went into a commercial break, in an attempt to calm things down.
