Ofer Prison guards seized a mobile phone belonging to a Palestinian lawyer who was using a lawyer's entrance plan to meet with a security detainee. A thorough investigation revealed photos in which he was seen holding various types of weapons.
During an attempt to enter the military court in Ofer, posing as a lawyer, the Palestinian was caught in possession of a small mobile phone with a hidden SIM card, which was suspected of being intended for smuggling in order to deliver it to his brother who is imprisoned in Ofer Prison for security offenses.
The suspect was transferred for questioning at Modi'in Illit Station.
During the investigation, the suspect's personal phone was seized, and when its contents were unpacked, digital media was discovered that included dozens of photos, in which he was seen holding several different weapons, including an M16 assault rifle, an M16 rifle with a grenade launcher, and a telescopic sight.
In addition, photos were found showing a child holding weapons, including an M16 and a Kalashnikov, which reinforces the suspicion that weapons were kept in the suspect's home and used by others.
During the investigation, the security forces also acted on the intelligence and operational levels, and the court ruled that the digital findings found strengthen the suspicions against him.
Upon completion of the investigation, a serious indictment was filed against the defendant for possession and manufacture of weapons without a permit - and at the same time, a request was filed for his arrest until the end of the proceedings.
