The political-security cabinet suspects that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich received leaks from within the IDF through improper means. This was reported this evening (Sunday) to Suleiman Masvada on 'Kan News'.

They fell for the current affairs: You won't believe what you can get at Mercantile

According to the report, army sources believe that the person who leaked various information to Smotrich is Brigadier General (res.) Erez Wiener, who serves as commander of the operational planning team in the Southern Command, and was previously an assistant to Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi.

The minister, according to security and political sources, used to arrive at some cabinet meetings with prior knowledge of the IDF's operational plans in the Gaza Strip.

Sources involved in the cabinet's work told Kan News: "We saw Smotrich sometimes come to cabinet meetings with printed presentations from the army, and present information that was not disclosed in the cabinet.".

An IDF spokesperson asked not to comment on the publication. However, the minister's office clarified that the report only proves that Smotrich arrives at the hearings properly prepared.

And this is the response from the Office of the Minister of Finance:

""'Kan 11' published an entire item about the Minister of Finance coming prepared for cabinet discussions, after dedicating time to learning and deepening his knowledge. Not only does the Minister admit this - he is also proud of it.".

Minister Smotrich maintains a continuous dialogue with soldiers and officers, past and present, studying scenarios, hearing ideas and bringing them to cabinet discussions.

Looking for the 'mole'? Enter any synagogue in religious Zionism - you will find dozens, if not hundreds, of fighters and officers of all ranks, people who dedicate their lives to serving the state and its security.

The expectation that senior ministers will hear security information only through one channel is not only wrong - it is the father of the concept. The minister will continue to work in every way to learn, challenge, listen and deepen - because this is the path to victory for the State of Israel.

If only they had listened to the field commanders and Minister Smotrich a year ago, the flow of humanitarian aid to Hamas would have stopped, the hostages would have been closer to returning home, and victory would have been within reach.

And a final word to Suleiman Masvad and the editors: Publishing an article about the Minister of Finance fulfilling his role faithfully is certainly legitimate. But calling past and present IDF soldiers "moles"? It is simply inappropriate.".
