There can be no peace with Amalek. He is doomed to complete destruction, so that no trace of him remains.

For more than three thousand three hundred years, the people of Israel have remembered "what Amalek did to you.".

This Shabbat, we will add a special Torah reading - 'Parashat Zachor.' We will read the eternal commandment not to forget the deeds of Amalek and the duty we have to blot out his memory from under heaven.

There is a satanic evil that cannot be reconciled with its existence, and it must be removed from the world. We hear the testimonies of the kidnapped who were released. We saw the horrors that these monsters committed on Simchat Torah last year. And even after all the beatings they have suffered, these villains continue to perform barbaric rituals of celebration on the coffins of tender babies, in front of a jubilant crowd holding their children in their hands.

Before us is a culture of bloodshed, cruelty, and monstrous evil. The enlightened world cannot tolerate the existence of such evil. Those who labeled Hamas as Nazism or ISIS were right.

Therefore, there can be no room for mercy and compassion here. To these people, the commandment "You shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven" should definitely be applied.

No right to exist

Judaism makes a clear distinction between other nations, even if they are sinners and idolaters, and Amalek. The other nations can be corrected, and it is possible to live with them in peace. There can be no peace with Amalek. They are doomed to complete destruction, until no trace of this horrific evil remains.

Therefore, this war cannot end with anything less than the complete elimination of Hamas and the dispersal of its supporters to other countries. This is how World War II ended - the complete elimination of Nazism. This is not just a question of fearing another murderous attack, if, God forbid, Hamas remains in place. Even if we had every guarantee that something like this would not happen again (and of course there are no such guarantees) - this evil must not be allowed to exist, because it is simply immoral and inhumane.

The struggle for the return of the kidnapped has led many to see it as the purpose of the war. There is no doubt that everything must be done to return all the kidnapped, both living and dead.

But even when we achieve this goal, with God's help, we must not compromise on anything less than the destruction of Hamas. It is impossible for such a murderous movement to continue to exist, to educate more and more children in murder and cruelty, and to celebrate its 'achievements' in the terrible massacre.

In anticipation of 'and vice versa''

Throughout this campaign, we see God's miracles, especially in light of the enormous pressures exerted on us by the nations of the world, led by the United States (of the previous administration), as is now becoming increasingly clear.

God has blessed us with the great miracle that the United States now stands at our right hand, and sees eye to eye with us on the vital need to destroy Hamas and disperse the residents of Gaza throughout the world.

This is the campaign before us, and it must end with "and on the contrary, that the Jews themselves will rule over their enemies.".

Just as in the days of Ahasuerus and Haman we were blessed with the great miracle in which the enemies of Israel were utterly defeated, while "the Jews had light and joy and gladness and honor" - so too will we have, with God's help, here and now. The month of Adar is our lucky month, and we will soon be able to celebrate the miracles of victory together.
