A heated discussion that took place today (Thursday) on the "Today's Edition" program hosted by Ofer Hadad on Channel 12, about the process of ousting the legal advisor to the government, Gali Baharav Mayara, turned into an unusual verbal confrontation that caused commentator Guy Peleg to get up and leave the News 12 studio.
Peleg began by clarifying that the process of removing an attorney general is "exceptional and extremely rare," and noted that it is a long and complex process, which includes the involvement of a committee and the High Court of Justice in an expanded composition.
He claimed: "This is a spin by Netanyahu designed to appease the ultra-Orthodox factions, and it has no real feasibility in the near term.".

Peleg later added and argued: "Is it possible that this government, headed by a person whom the state accuses of the most serious corruption offense, will fire the Attorney General?""
MK Moshe Saada, who was a guest on the panel, responded: "This is a process that will happen. The attorney general is an unprofessional attorney, she has zero understanding of constitutional and criminal law.".
At this point, the confrontation heated up, and Falg burst out in anger at Saada's words: "Shall I say what they say about you at the prosecutor's office?""

Saada ignored it and continued: "Everything the government proposes - she is against. The government has the right to choose a legal advisor who will advise it and not try to thwart it. She is the only one who has served faithfully as the chairman of the opposition.".
He added: "She is not professional, she persecutes soldiers, and we saw what she did to Force One and the tape that was published here, a blood libel tape.".
At this point, Guy Peleg exploded, stood up from his seat and said angrily: "I am not willing to sit next to this vile man.".
He removed the headset - and abandoned the studio.
