The terrorist who placed the bomb on the bus that exploded in Bat Yam about two weeks ago has been arrested in Israel.

According to a report this evening (Wednesday) by Hadas Greenberg on Kan News, the terrorist is a member of the Israeli Security Service who was arrested shortly after the attack.

He was picked up from the checkpoint by a 47-year-old Jewish resident of Holon, who drove the terrorist on the way to the attack.

An indictment will be filed against the Israeli 'driver' tomorrow.

According to the report, the first encounter between the Israeli driver from Holon and the terrorist occurred on the day of the attack in the afternoon. The Israeli picked up the terrorist from a construction site in the central area and drove him back to the checkpoint.

A few hours later, the terrorist called the 'driver' and asked him to pick him up from the checkpoint and drive him to Bat Yam. When the 'driver' from Holon reached him, the terrorist got into the car and at a certain point moved to sit next to the driver with the bag containing the explosive device.

After the Israeli dropped off the terrorist in Bat Yam, he got on the bus - and placed the explosive device that exploded.

The 'driver' said in his interrogation: "On the day of the attack, I picked up the terrorist from the construction site. The person who connected us was Y., the taxi driver from Bat Yam. He gave the terrorist my phone number. The terrorist called me, I picked him up and drove him twice that day. Once in the afternoon from Israel to the checkpoint.".

The suspect in transporting the terrorist continued: "The second time he called in the evening and asked me to take him from the checkpoint to Bat Yam. He got into the car. He sat next to me with the bag. I didn't know there was a bomb there and that he was a terrorist. I dropped him off in Bat Yam and drove away.".

The man admitted that he drove the terrorist for money.

According to the report, until yesterday the suspect in transporting the terrorist was being held in a Shin Bet facility, but in the past 24 hours he was transferred to a facility run by the Israel Prison Service.

At the Shin Bet facility, he was prevented from meeting his lawyer.

During their meeting, the suspect told the lawyer: "I am held in a dark cell 24 hours a day. The only light comes from the bathroom. Guards throw food at me like they throw it at dogs."

As for the second suspect in the case, the Jewish taxi driver from Bat Yam, he was released to house arrest this week. A decision will be made later on whether to file an indictment against him as well.
