The Defense Procurement Director at the Ministry of Defense and the IDF Technology and Logistics Division announced today (Sunday) the companies that won the large IDF leasing tender - Eldan and Perry.
Five Stars: A Passover vacation like never before in the ultra-Orthodox sector
The companies Eldan and Perry will provide approximately 10,000 leasing vehicles to the IDF's captains and corporals population for a period of 4 years.
The tender includes the rental, maintenance and management of vehicles for the IDF's rabbi-serenim and RN population, as well as providing vehicles for families with children.
The tender was held towards the end of the current contract and after the previous tender was extended by a year in light of the war.
The vehicles will replace the vehicles currently in use - the Seat Ibiza, Hyundai 20 and Kia Rio.
The distribution of the vehicles - models Skoda Fabia, Kia Stonic, Skoda Scala, Skoda Kamiq, and for families with children, Opel Frontera - is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025 and end by the second quarter of 2028.
The tender, considered one of the largest tenders in the economy, was managed by the Deputy Head of the Defense Procurement Directorate's Land Procurement Unit in cooperation with and in accordance with the requirements of the IDF Technology and Logistics Division.
Winning is subject to the companies meeting all tender requirements and conditions as declared by them.
As part of the 'quality and service experience' concept of the IDF Technology and Logistics Division, a 'smart' leasing tender has been formulated for permanent service members. The Defense Ministry says that "The goal of the tender is to bring about significant improvement and provide an appropriate response to the needs of service members, who will be able to choose between two vehicle categories: compact family and super mini.
""The tender emphasizes providing a tailored response for all populations, safety standards, vehicle size and fuel economy, with the choice between the various categories being subject to an additional payment by the individual.".
The tender also includes improving service through advanced digital solutions, such as the WhatsApp app and services, in order to ensure efficient and available service to users.
