
The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment today (Thursday) in the Jerusalem District Court against the driver of Labor Minister Yoav Ben-Zur of the Shas party, Matzliah (Tzachi) Cohen, a resident of the Haredi city of Beitar Illit, for committing serious offenses against a female passenger who is a resident of the city.
According to the indictment, filed by attorney Benny Libeskind of the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office, Cohen, a resident of Beitar Illit, committed particularly serious offenses against the passenger, who hired his services for a paid trip.
The investigation was conducted by the Harel Station in the Jerusalem District of the Israel Police.
The Labor Ministry told Liran Tamari of Ynet in response that the defendant "was employed at the office for about 10 actual working days, filling in for Driver B, who is currently serving in the reserves. Even before your request, he was suspended from his position and fired as a substitute because he was unavailable for an extended period of time.".
