Following complaints from residents of the city of Bnei Brak about illegal residents staying overnight at construction sites in the city of Torah and Hasidism, last night (Sunday) the headquarters of the "Guardians" organization decided to launch a "site cleanup" operation.
The organization's volunteers began scanning suspicious streets and sites about which complaints had been received.
During a raid on a site on Rabbi Shabazi Street in the city, ten construction workers were caught sleeping inside the construction site, in violation of the law and without having a residence permit.
The Shabachim, residents of Judea and Samaria, were detained by the volunteers and arrested by patrol officers from the Dan Region Police for further treatment at the police station.
The organization's chairman, Haim Roter: "We see the phenomenon of employing the Shabachim, and especially their detention, as a dangerous phenomenon that could harm the security and lives of residents. We reiterate our call on contractors not to allow members of minorities to roam the city and certainly not to arrange for them to stay and stay throughout the city. Protecting the lives and security of residents during this period in particular is the main goal before any financial or other consideration. At the "Shomerim" organization, we will continue to work for this sacred goal.".
