The American magazine "TIME" announced today (Thursday) that the President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has been chosen as "Person of the Year" for 2024. Trump also won the same title in 2016. The newspaper explained the choice of Trump by saying that since he first announced his candidacy for the presidency in 2015, no figure has changed history and politics like Trump. In addition, the magazine emphasized that there were additional assessments of his election, and they are reflected in the way he has reshaped the institution of the American presidency and also his role in changing the status of the United States in the world. Following Trump's coronation as "Person of the Year", the President-elect gave an interview to the magazine and said that the conflict in the Middle East would be resolved under his presidency, an issue that he said was easier to resolve than the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Trump reiterated that the October 7 attack was a terrible thing, and that people had begun to forget about it. Regarding the war and Netanyahu, he said: "He knows I want it to end." When asked if he trusts Netanyahu, Trump replied: "I don't trust anyone." Trump said in an interview that he did not enter wars in his first term, but when asked if he thought there would be a war with Iran, Trump said "anything can happen.". Prime Minister Netanyahu was also on the list of candidates for 'Person of the Year.' Alongside Netanyahu were other candidates, including Kamala Harris, entrepreneur and businessman Elon Musk, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, and Princess of Wales Kate Middleton.
