Cabinet ministers clashed sharply last night (Saturday night) with the Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister, Attorney Gali Baharav Mayara, over the postponement of Netanyahu's testimony in light of the dramatic events in Syria.

In the presence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir began: "I know that what I say may come up in another investigation. It's a few minutes before midnight. The Prime Minister will be here until dawn and tomorrow as well. This is not only opaque behavior to not agree to postpone the trial and allow the Prime Minister to manage the systems, but it is recklessness on the part of the Attorney General. Gali is abandoning Israel's security.".

Justice Minister Yariv Levin reinforced his words: "I agree with Minister Ben-Gvir. The Ronal Fisher trial has been going on for nine years, and here the advisor is not willing to postpone a trial that will anyway last for years. I demand that you postpone.".

Minister Miri Regev joined in: "I want to appeal to the heart of the Ombudsman. Even a battalion commander or a battalion commander postpone hearings for them. The Prime Minister is waging a war.".

Minister Gila Gamliel: "This is a failure to distinguish between the main issue and the main issue. This is not a personal matter, but a matter of public trust in the system. I ask that it be my turn to postpone.".

Minister Orit Struk: "Because of the birthday of attorneys, defense attorneys or judges, trials have already been postponed. I ask that we close this as a decision.".

Minister Bezalel Smotrich: "Let's make a decision.".

Minister Yisrael Katz: "I'm telling you in my own style - let's postpone.".

The attorney general became furious and demanded the right to speak: "This is not an issue for the cabinet! The prime minister has defenders, and they speak on his behalf. This is political interference. The cabinet is not allowed to discuss this.".

Minister Ben Gvir did not give up: "Now you are also dictating to the cabinet? We will discuss, and I ask that we make a decision and refer it to the court.".
