The Commissioner of the Prison Service, Rabbi Gonder Kobi Yaakovi, is suspected of having informed the commander of the Prison Service, Deputy Commissioner Avishai Moalem, about the undercover investigation being conducted against him by the Prison Service, for bribing National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

Yaakovi is also suspected of interfering in police appointments.

Yacoubi was arrested near his home this week and released after questioning. The court ordered him not to interfere in police appointments for 30 days and forbade him from contacting Muallem.

According to the legal materials, Commander of the IDF's SY Avishai Mualem is suspected of leaking classified information to National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, apparently in order to gain a promotion from him, and of allegedly inappropriate conduct in handling national crime in Judea and Samaria.

According to the suspicion, Mualem ignored information and demands from the Shin Bet to arrest extreme right-wing activists who were involved in riots against Arabs. There is another suspect in the case, a police officer with the rank of chief inspector.

The Jerusalem District Court today (Thursday) heard a request to extend the detention of the commander of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for an additional five days.

According to a report in Kan News, the director of the IDF did not allow the wife of the commander of the IDF's Yamarr Shi, attorney Ziona Mualem, who is representing her husband in the case along with attorney Ephraim Damri, to meet with him - even though the Jerusalem District Court ordered in its decision to allow this by virtue of her position.

Lawyer Mualem: "The director of the detention center blocked me with her body so that I wouldn't even enter the waiting room for the detainees.".

Because of this, the two lawyers filed a motion under the Contempt of Court Order to allow Attorney Mualem to meet with her husband, whom she represents. It should be noted that last night, the Criminal Investigation Department did not allow the attorney to advise Attorney Mualem, who was under investigation, until Attorney Dimri arrived and the two entered together.

Mualem's brother, Sharon Elia, accused in an interview on the Be'er Sheva channel that this was a "political arrest," and said that they will continue the fight for his release. "We will not remain silent about this, we will make sure to bring the truth to light and bring to justice those who caused this.".

""We are looking into things, we are very responsible. It is taking shape, we are giving time to take its course. Every minute here is important, the family feels betrayed. My brother is a role model, respected, an honest man. We are proud of him and his work. Things will come to light. The injustice done to him and the conduct - this is forbidden. It needs to be cut off.".

Minister Ben Gvir responded to the decision to request an extension of Mualem's detention, claiming that this is a political investigation intended to harm officers who were earmarked for promotion: "In the past, people advanced in this ministry through patronage and through combinations. I say again and with great pride that those who uphold my policy advance in the police force. That's how it is in a democracy, not in a banana republic.".

Ben Gvir further responded to the affair: "Ntsam Avishai Mualem, commander of the Yamer Shi'a, acted as he should. He put the security of the settlers in Judea and Samaria at the top of the list of priorities, and focused on the fight against Arab terrorism, instead of chasing and harassing teenagers with markers. Mualem implemented my policy, and for that reason he was arrested. This apparently bothers the attorney general, which is why she chose to arrest him and throw him into the interrogation room as the last of the criminals.".
