Unusual event: A private vehicle traveling on Harech Street in Ma'ale Adumim on Monday morning, on its way to school, began to emit smoke during the journey. With private supervision, the mother and her children who were in the vehicle managed to escape - moments before the fire spread to the entire vehicle.

The 102 Fire and Rescue hotline received a report of a vehicle starting to smoke. Firefighters from the Ma'ale Adumim station were quickly called to the scene and worked professionally to extinguish the fire.

The firefighters used foam to extinguish the fire, while simultaneously cooling and disconnecting energy sources in the vehicle to ensure the safety of those around them.

Shift Commander, Rabbi Reshef Matzliah Ben Aharon: "As soon as we arrived at the scene, we began extinguishing the vehicle with foam, while maintaining the safety of those around. The fighters disconnected energy sources in order to cut off the electricity in the vehicle, to prevent further dangers.".

The owner of the car, who was driving it at the time of the incident, said: "The car started to smoke while driving to school, in order to disperse the children to the settings. We immediately got out, and a few moments later the fire took hold of parts of the car.".

An initial investigation revealed that a technical malfunction likely caused the fire.
