A squad of terrorists, affiliated with the murderous terrorist organization Hamas, planned to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and his eldest son, Shuval Ben-Gvir.
According to Hillel Rosen Biton's revelation on Channel 14, one of the investigations conducted by the Shin Bet branched off into a new investigation during which a terrorist cell was exposed - four Palestinians from the Hebron area, affiliated with Hamas, who planned to attack Ben Gvir and his son Shuval, who is currently undergoing selection for a pilot course in the Air Force.
The terrorist squad tried to gather information about Ben Gvir: where he was during the day, how many security guards he had, and what his security procedures were. The Hamas terrorists planned to hit him at one of the attack sites that Ben Gvir usually visited.
The investigation revealed that after the terrorists realized that Ben Gvir was under very high security, they tried to obtain information about his son Shuval, who is known to be active on social media - about his movements in Hebron and Kiryat Arba, as well as whether he was under security and whether he carried a weapon.
When the terrorists were unable to acquire weapons, they attempted to make a car bomb or an IED. The terrorists gathered information and attempted to plan the assassination, until they were arrested before they could move forward with their diabolical plan.
The case is currently at the prosecutor's office and is awaiting indictment.
A security source told Channel 14: “There is a high level of threat to secure figures and symbols, and a desire on the part of the terrorist organizations to create an ‘image of victory’ in the form of harming senior Israeli officials.”.
According to the report, so far the Shin Bet has saved Ben Gvir's life five times, and this is the third incident to be revealed in the last two years, while Ben Gvir is serving as a government minister.
