About two weeks ago, three suspects were driving on Highway 1 near the Latrun intersection in a vehicle equipped with a loudspeaker and a siren. At one point, they ordered the driver they were pursuing to stop on the side of the road - while posing as a police car.
After the victim pulled over to the side of the road, two suspects got out of the vehicle and introduced themselves as police officers. A third suspect then got out and stabbed the victim multiple times in several areas of his body - one of the suspects was armed with a gun.
A team of Border Guard tactical brigade fighters traveling on the route spotted the victim on the side of the road, provided him with life-saving first aid, and provided an initial report on the incident.
Following the report, an extensive investigation began at the Jerusalem Border Police's Mateh Yehuda Station, in which a variety of advanced technological investigation tools were deployed. After an investigative effort by the station's Investigations and Intelligence Division, Border Police fighters arrested the three suspects - who were acting under the direction of a criminal - in Kafr Qassem, for further investigation.
This morning (Sunday), after the investigation was completed, a serious indictment was filed against one of the defendants, which includes several charges, including: conspiracy to commit a crime, injury to an armed criminal by two or more people, impersonating a public employee, and threats.
A prosecutor's statement and a request for arrest were filed against the two other suspects. In addition, the vehicle used by the suspects was confiscated.
According to a report on the Ynet website, the attack occurred on October 28, when the three members of the cell began to advance their plan to harm the victim, based on a previous conflict.
According to the indictment, one of the members of the cell went to a car rental company in Afula that day and rented a white Chevrolet, to which he installed a public address system and a siren so that it would look like a police detective vehicle.
At around 3:00 AM, the three were driving on Highway 1, after receiving information that the driver's vehicle was going to pass there. When the target arrived for the hit near Latrun, the three positioned themselves in a lane parallel to his vehicle and honked their horn. The driver slowed down, opened the window and asked what they wanted.
The three shouted at him: “Police, police, stand aside!” while brandishing a gun.
The driver continued driving, but the three turned on a flashing blue-red light (a flashing light) and signaled him to pull over.
The driver stopped on the side of the road, assuming it was a police vehicle, and one of the squad members got out of the vehicle wearing a hat, approached his window and asked: “Where are you from?”.
He answered: "Mabu Ghosh, who are you?", and the squad member replied: "I'm a police officer. Turn off the engine and get out of the vehicle.".
He asked the victim for ID, who turned off the engine but remained in place. At this point, the attacker opened the driver's door and the two other members of the gang joined in and stabbed the victim several times in the head, hands, and torso.
About an hour later, one of the squad members sent a message to the criminal who had instructed them, writing: "A sack of flour" - a nickname for success in a mission. In response, the criminal replied: "Oh, general, oh, general. Tomorrow you will come with sweets.".
