Journalist Thomas Friedman, a commentator for The New York Times, addressed the victory of President-elect Donald Trump - and the Israeli angle - in an interview he gave to Ilana Dayan on the Galei Tzahal radio station this morning (Thursday).

Friedman said: "My biggest fear is that Trump simply won't want to deal with Israel and he will let Bibi stay in Gaza and southern Lebanon, annex Gaza and the territories - and Israel will eventually be destroyed.".

Frediman, a journalist with left-wing views, often attacks Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his columns.

In an interview he gave to CNN a few months ago, Friedman accused Netanyahu of exploiting President Biden and the US for his political survival, and that this is Netanyahu's only goal.

Friedman then launched a sharp verbal attack on Netanyahu: "Joe Biden is a decent and honest man. He is not built to deal with an evil and cynical figure like Benjamin Netanyahu, who is willing to use the US and Biden to secure what is his top priority, and that is Benjamin Netanyahu's political survival, which he has placed before Israel's national interest. Israel's national interest is to have a Palestinian partner. Netanyahu refuses to do this because he has formed a cabinet with far-right lunatics who refuse to consider any Palestinian partner.".

He then claimed that Netanyahu is the obstacle to Israel's victory in the war in Gaza. "As long as this is the case, Israel cannot win in Gaza, it cannot win at the UN, it cannot win on university campuses, it will not win.".
