Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night (Wednesday) severely reprimanded MK Dan Illoz of the Likud faction, after he expressed his opposition to MK Yisrael Eichler's 'daycare' law in recent days, and among other things claimed: "There will be no conscription without significant personal sanctions.".

According to a report by Moti Castel on Channel 14, Netanyahu lost his temper unusually, and screamed at MK Illoz: “Who are you anyway? By what authority do you dare to undermine the coalition on such sensitive days?"

Castel notes that this is an interesting conversation because it shows that despite the expansion of the coalition, Netanyahu is still afraid of scorers and a snowball that could roll.

Netanyahu's conversation took place after Illuz said yesterday: "Enough with the exercises - there will be no conscription without significant personal sanctions. To release such a large group from the obligation to serve in the IDF at such a critical time is an un-Zionist act and is unworthy of us as a people - whether it is called the 'Conscription Law' or the 'Dorm Law', which aims to abolish the dormitory sanction and restore the funding.

""Even if the dormitory sanction raises questions due to its implications for the employment of Haredi women or the welfare of children, it should not be abolished without promoting an alternative and meaningful sanction - such as denying any property tax discount to those who do not serve. Without this, the dormitory law removes the personal incentive to enlist and effectively becomes a 'non-enlistment law' in disguise.".
