Battalion commanders and non-combatants in Lebanon to IDF leadership: "Don't stop the war!""

Against the backdrop of political talks about a settlement in the north that will stop the fighting - the commanders of the battalions and brigades fighting in Lebanon are calling on the senior military echelon: "Do not stop the war." Two senior officers commanding forces in Lebanon, one of whom is a brigade commander, told Noam Amir of Ma'arutz 14: "We have been hearing talk about the settlement for the past 24 hours, and it is not clear to us what the truth is." One of them added: "I tell you, from my conversations with battalion commanders and brigade commanders, there is a clear statement that this must not be stopped. We must continue to cleanse more Shiite villages beyond what has been approved so far.".

Another officer noted: "There are still huge quantities of weapons, mainly mortars and anti-tank weapons, and we have not yet eliminated thousands of terrorists from Radwan." Regarding the outcome of the fighting, the commanders said: "We have a huge advantage in ground combat over the enemy, and we must not miss this opportunity.".
