
Maj. Gen. (Res.) Yedidia Bloch, 32, a resident of the Mevo Horon settlement in Binyamin, a soldier in Battalion 7155, 'Spearhead' Formation (55), who was seriously wounded in battle in southern Lebanon on the morning of Simchat Torah, died today (Tuesday) from his wounds.
Yedidia is survived by his wife Sapir, who is eight months pregnant, his parents, and seven brothers and sisters.
He is the 62nd spaceship since the beginning of October 2024.
Regional Council Head Benjamin Yisrael Gantz eulogized: "All these days we have prayed for our dear friend. He went into battle with dedication and lived a noble life, and thus fought and died for the people of Israel and for its complete victory. At this time, we embrace his wife Sapir, as well as his parents and brothers, and we ask that we strengthen the Mevo Horon community. Thanks to him, the people of Israel will prevail and win.".
Earlier, the names of four YPG fighters who were killed in a bomb explosion inside a building in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip were released:
Captain Yehonatan (Johnny) Keren, 22, from Moldet, Sergeant Nissim Meital, 20, from Hadera, Sergeant Aviv Gilboa, 21, from Neve Tzuf, and Sergeant Naor Haimov, 22, from Rosh HaAyin.
In the incident in Jabalia, a combat officer in the Multidimensional Unit (888) was seriously injured. The combat officer was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. His family has been notified.
